The story of this Seattle Dragon print is a long, but rewarding one. I originally drew this illustration back in 2015 for a college class. I was inspired by woodblock book illustrations from the 1600s, the strange monstrous creatures often depicted, and their attention to detail that creates rich textures. In 2022, I decided to redraw it, and carve it into a block of linoleum. It took about 30+ redraws, 4 lost 9" x 12" blocks due to errors (about $20 - $25 a piece), and 9 months of extra stress/work to get it to a point where "I" was satisfied with the completed print. This is by far the largest print I have ever completed, and with the 2" border around each side, which means it's perfect for framing or simply putting it up as a poster.
